At the end of this month, we will be launching our new Psychoeducational group for parents on suicide prevention and self-harm. Suicide and self-harm have become the 3rd leading cause of death in children in the USA. Alarmingly, our country’s high rate of depression correlates with the highest suicide rate among wealthy nations[1]
In America’s current culture, being sad is normal—many of us were raised with a negatively-biased, “glass half empty” worldview. When we have difficulty seeing the good in life, we can unknowingly pass this sentiment along to our kids. What’s more, we often experience a gap in how as parents we communicate with our children. We’re often in denial that our children are depressed and, instead, live under the misapprehension that they’re acting out for attention.
Please join us for 5 weeks of psychoeducation on how to talk to your kids about suicide, and self-harm, how to understand them, how to communicate about these difficult topics, how to be aware of our own needs for mental health and self-well-being, and practice all to be better communicators and listeners of these difficult topics.
The cost per session is $50 for two hours. This covers the folder with printed assessments, info sheets and evaluation at the end as well as snacks. If you commit to all 5 sessions, we will reduce price to $200.
Our initial first groups will be starting June 30th (Thursday from 5-7 pm)
Another one will start July 1st (Friday from 3-5 pm)
We will also offer a Saturday class starting July 2nd (10 am-12 pm) if there is a need.
Please sign up by calling 513-770-1705 and tell us which class you are interested in. Or contact us at admin@icounselingsolutions.org, or fill out the form below.
